What is TAB?
The Girls Inc. of The Valley’s Teen Advisory Board is a group of teen advocates who meet every other Monday throughout the school year to cultivate a project related to a topic we are passionate about. This may be an event, a piece of art, or a fundraiser to express our opinions on our topic that year.
“This year, TAB’s theme was Youth Mental Health Assistance, which aims to talk about and advocate for teens’ and students’ mental health struggles within the school system. We made a short informational skit in our space to highlight the experiences we have had as students throughout our education. Please feel free to share and use this as a resource.”-Sienna Barrett
“The Girls Inc of the Valley, Teen Advisory Board is a group of teenagers working on projects and campaigns to advocate for ones in need. This year our project is making a video that raises awareness of IEP/504 plans. We chose this project because we as a group felt those plans are overlooked and more often than not needed by the students. In our video, we go over the steps it takes to get an IEP/504 and also go over the information we’ve learned.”-Lydia, TAB member
