We have a new name—Girls Inc. of the Valley

Why did Girls Inc. of Holyoke decide to change our name? Not everyone realizes that we serve girls from several communities. As we continue to grow and expand our footprint, we are proud to share our Girls Inc. model with the rest of the Valley by going where the girls need us the most. Girls from Springfield, South Hadley, Chicopee and other communities can feel that they, too, are part of an organization that helps girls become strong, smart, and bold.

It’s a new name, but the same great mission. At Girls Inc. of the Valley, girls value education as a path to economic independence, use the power of their creativity and self-expression, champion diversity, work for change in their communities and explore career choices that are not defined by or limited by their gender.

We will keep our headquarters in Holyoke, and stay as committed as ever to the city where we began. Girls from area communities will continue to benefit from programs held at our Holyoke center headquarters on everything from literacy to leadership as we continue to expand. We have partnered to work inside 10 schools, including Springfield’s Chestnut Academy Middle School and Chicopee’s Bellamy Middle School and Dupont Middle School. More girls are also getting life-changing experiences at UMass Amherst with our Eureka! STEM learning program for teens.

Girls Inc. now reaches 400 girls. By 2021 that number will grow to 1000!

With help from you and our supporters we know we will get there!

Many thanks for being part of the Girls Inc. of the Valley family.
