There are 1.1 billion girls in the world—and International Day of the Girl helps remind us they deserve our help every day. October 11 marked the eighth annual International Day of the Girl, which was founded by the United Nations to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world. Girls Inc. of Holyoke honored this special day by holding a reception for business leaders and Champion donors. They got to enjoy the sparkling company of our girls, and also toured an amazing exhibit called “The Intersection: Women of Color on the Move.” Many thanks to our friends at the Springfield law firm of Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas, which generously provided the venue.
