Why do you want this job? What do you bring to the table? This spring, our older girls prepped for their summer externship placements by practicing job interview scenarios. Meghan Bone, Eureka! director, helped coach how you use verbal language and body language to land the job, and really broke this down. In one exercise, for instance, the girls simply practiced how to greet an employer (hint: leave “wassup” at home).
They also practiced resume writing and networking, coming up with conversation starters for talking with someone in their chosen field. This summer, our older Eureka! girls will put it all to the test in their externship placements at such organizations as Western New England University, Chicopee Chamber of Commerce, Kuhn-Riddle Architects, Mason Wright Retirement Home, Art Labs at Springfield Museums and more.
